What does it offer?
Home The type of work that could be eligible for these loans include repairs to leaking roofs, rotten or draughty windows, central heating installation, treatment of damp etc. This is assessed by the Local Authority for approval.

Security and risk
All loans are secured by using either an equitable mortgage or an equitable charge on the property. It is also registered at the Land Registry, meaning the property cannot be sold or change ownership without the Wessex loan being re-paid.

After you have contacted your Local Authority and requested a visit from WHIL:

  • One of our Loan Advisers will contact you within the next few days to arrange an initial visit.
  • They will provide you with more information about the different types of loans and repayment options available to you.
  • They will make a financial assessment to ensure that you have sufficient disposable income to afford the loan.
  • The Loan Advisers will explain the next stages of the process and at each stage will be there to guide you through it. They will help you complete the application form and keep you informed at all times of the progress of your request.
